The department is mainly responsible for the teaching and management tasks for the major of Computer Science and Technology. The major has recruited the undergraduate students since 1998. It aims at cultivating multi-skills application talents with the capacities of computer application development, problem analyzing and problem solving through computer.

Currently, there are 36 teachers in the department, including 8 professors, 2 invited professors, 12 associate professors, 14 lecturers, 3 doctoral supervisors, 14 master supervisors, and 17 doctors.
