SIM held a symposium for young teachers

On August 29, 2022, SIM held a symposium for young teachers, and leaders of SIM and the new teachers recruited in the past three years attended this symposium.

At the symposium, Dean Fang Yuming shared his study and research experience with the young teachers, and encouraged them to maintain an optimistic attitude, do a good job in teaching and research, be diligent and innovative, and actively participate in the construction of the faculty from different aspects.

Deputy Dean Shen Bo shared his experience with young teachers in postgraduate training and encouraged them to actively declare master's degree, guide postgraduates to carry out academic research and improve the quality of postgraduates' graduation. Deputy Dean Qi Yawei shared her experience in teaching and put forward the requirement that teachers should take cultivating students as the first priority, remember the mission of teaching and educating people, actively undertake professional courses and improve the quality of course construction. Deputy Dean Liu Xiping pointed out that young teachers should improve their scientific research while doing their teaching work seriously, so that teaching and research can grow together, and made suggestions on how to better adapt to the university environment and integrate into the research team.      

During the symposium, young teachers raised questions about the use of research start-up grants, supervising students in different competitions, and studying abroad for further education. Secretary Zhang Zhijun made a concluding speech and gave detailed answers to the problems young teachers encountered in their daily work life.
