SIM hosted the 2023 Annual Academic Conference of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society

The "2023 Annual Academic Conference of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society," organized by the Jiangxi Mathematical Society and hosted by the Department of Mathematics at the School of Information Management, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and the Training Base for National Digital Literacy and Skill Enhancement, took place at the Meiling Xindu Pullman Hotel in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province from November 24th to 26th, 2023. The mathematics conference featured three keynote speeches by renowned experts in the field and invited 12 outstanding mathematicians from Jiangxi Province who have published papers in prestigious domestic and international journals or are actively engaged in academic or teaching work to deliver group presentations. The conference was well-attended, attracting a gathering of elites. Attendees included Que Shandong, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; Professor Wu Quanshui from the School of Mathematical Sciences at Fudan University; Professor Dong Qiuxian, Chairman of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society; Professor Fang Yuming, Dean of the School of Information Management at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; Professor Wan Jianxiang, Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; and Professor Mao Xiaobing, Director of the Development and Cooperation Office at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics. More than 150 scholars from over 50 universities, secondary schools, and educational research institutions in Jiangxi Province, including Nanchang University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, Jiangxi Normal University, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Nanchang Hangkong University, Jinggangshan University, East China Jiaotong University, Jiangxi Science and Technology Normal University, Gannan Normal University, Jiangxi Normal University Affiliated Middle School, Nanchang Yu-Zhang Middle School, and Nanchang Second Middle School, participated in the conference. The event featured three keynote speeches, two parallel symposiums, and other academic activities. The opening ceremony of the conference was chaired by Vice Dean Wang Xing of the School of Information Management.

In his speech, Que Shandong, a member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, expressed heartfelt thanks to the Jiangxi Mathematical Society for entrusting our university with the organization of this year's conference. He introduced the recent development of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and emphasized the important role of the mathematics discipline in the development of new liberal arts and the upgrading of finance and economics-related majors. Professor Dong Qiuxian, Chairman of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Discipline Director of the School of Mathematics and Computer Science at Nanchang University, warmly welcomed the leaders and guests attending this year's mathematics conference. Chairman Dong summarized the work and contributions of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society over the past year and expressed that the development of the mathematics discipline in Jiangxi Province relies on the joint efforts of the council members and representative members.

Professor Fang Yuming, a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, recipient of the National Excellent Youth Fund, and Dean of the School of Information Management at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, introduced the overall planning and development of the School of Information Management, particularly the Mathematics Department. He emphasized that the school has been committed to cultivating outstanding mathematical talents and applying mathematics to the construction of management science, economics, computer science and technology, and other disciplines to serve the development of society.

The 2023 Annual Academic Conference of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society is a grand gathering in the field of mathematics in Jiangxi Province. It serves as an opportunity to showcase the achievements of the mathematics discipline at Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and receive evaluation and assessment from experts both within and outside the province. Professor Dong Qiuxian, Chairman of the Jiangxi Mathematical Society, congratulated the successful convening of this year's academic conference and highly praised Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics for hosting the event. She expressed gratitude to the participating experts and scholars from within and outside the province, as well as the organizing committee for their hard work and dedication. The attending experts commended the achievements of our university's mathematics discipline in the areas of faculty development, talent cultivation, scientific research, and platform construction.

        This conference not only provided a platform for in-depth communication and cooperation between our university and sister institutions but also played a positive role in advancing the development of our mathematics discipline, scientific research, and talent cultivation. Furthermore, it contributed to the promotion of the value of mathematical cultural education and the enhancement of digital literacy for the general public.
