Information System Analysis and Design

Information System Analysis and Design is one of the main courses for the major Information Management and Information System. By organically integrating the management theory and information technology, and engineering idea and systematic thinking, the course devotes to cultivate students' abilities of solving practical problems in information system planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, and operation maintenance by using the methods, tools and technologies of system analysis and design. After being approved as the state level excellent course in 2008, the teaching team continuously enhances course construction, and carries out course resource construction and teaching method and teaching measures reform by fully using modern information technology. It has completed the transformation from teacher oriented mode to the mode of high institution's students and lecturers oriented, simultaneously taking into account of social learners. The course resource system is complete, colorful, featured, and practical. It's suitable for opening, spreading and sharing over networks. In 2013, it was approved as the national shared courses of excellent resource.

Continuously deepening teaching reform, the teaching team has successively undertaken teaching research projects, including research of teaching reform and curriculum system of Information System Analysis and Design, research and practice of double subjects interactive type teaching mode based on Web2.0, and has successively won the 2nd prize of national excellent teaching achievements and the 2nd prize of Jiangxi excellent teaching achievements, respectively. The information system series curricula constructed centering on Information System Analysis and Design has formed stable and featured teaching team. In 2010, the teaching team for the information system series curricula won the award of the state level teaching team.

Database System and Application

Database System and Application is a professional main course for the majors Information Management and Information System, Computer Science and Technology and their related majors. It is the key technical course for realizing the teaching target "IT talents with the knowledge of management or management talents with the knowledge of IT". Currently, most of the management information systems are built on database. Driving by cases, this course tries to construct database, and database application system through analyzing application demands, so as to make students profoundly understand the design idea of relational database and improve capacity of database design, and make students "be able to" use database (be able to design database, be able to manage database, and be able to develop database application program). It focally emphasizes to cultivate the database design ability and the applicable development ability.

Through the past years exploration and practice, it has obtained some great research achievements for teaching and was widely spread in and out of the university and played the demonstration and radiation role. Database System and Application has been approved as the state level excellent course, and the national shared courses of excellent resource. 2 related teaching teams have been approved as the state level teaching teams. The major-- Information Management and Information System was approved as the state level featured specialty. It has successively won the first prize ofJiangxiexcellent teaching achievements twice. The textbook "Principles and Design of Database System" was selected in the first batch of state level planning textbooks for regular higher education undergraduate of "the twelfth five-year" plan. 3 textbooks won the first prize of Jiangxi excellent textbooks, among which, the "Principles and Design of Database System" has been selected as the textbook for the major Information Management and Information System by more than 40 colleges and universities, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Sun Yat-sen University, which has demonstrated the promotion effect.

Decision Making Theory and Method

The state level excellent course Decision Making Theory and Method is one of the professional main courses for the majors Management Science and Information Management and Information System. It was approved as the state level excellent course in 2009, and the national shared courses of excellent resource in 2013. The person in charge of the course is Professor Tao Changqi. Through studying this course, students can master the basic theory and method of decision making analysis, and master the application of simulation technology in decision making analysis; students are able to flexibly use the knowledge to establish related decision making model and simulation model and solve them. Studying this course can cultivate students' abilities of finding problems from practice, posing the problems, analyzing the problems and solving the problems, and can cultivate students' team work ability; and can improve students' innovation ability and comprehensive quality, and can make students become "management talents with the knowledge of modern decision making technology".
